![]() I have over the last two days had some very enjoyable flights which have given me a convincing sensation of being in an airborne object. ![]() I think this reflects the addictive immersive quality of VR flight sim when powered by such convincing software. In fact FS2 has prompted so much interest in motion platforms on this and the IPACS forum that other simmers with many more flying hours than me have commented that they’ve never seen so much discussion on the subject. I’ve been so captivated flying FS2 with Oculus Rift that 2 months ago, in pursuit of even more of a sense of realism, I purchased a motion platform. I’m pretty sure they make this as an add-on kit if the budget is super tight. It is just so worth it! Feeling the car slide out from under you is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. If you’re seriously considering purchasing this, My only recommendation would be to save up a little more money and get the traction loss. The few games I play on occasion that are not supported by motion seem lifeless. You would think it’s a commercially made item not some DIY project made in a basement.Īnd as for using it all I can say is it has changed my sim life! Every time someone comes over and I put them in X-Plane VR or project cars 2 with triple screens people literally say it’s the coolest thing theyve ever seen. And their software can be really wonky because it is proprietary.Īs for the rig itself it’s very well made. But in the end it’s way too expensive and way too large and basically just a seat mover with traction loss. ![]() The original motion platform I have always wanted was the simxperience Stage 5. for a brief second I consider the NL motion platform platform but it’s just a seat mover and I’m not interested in that. The motor seems extremely noisy and the articulation seemed to be much less. It is considerably more expensive especially if you plan to go 5 dof. The point of a motion simulator that you spend this much money on is to use it, not be fiddling with settings and never able to use it.īefore I go any further I will say the only other motion simulator I considered was the prosimu t1000. This stuff is after all experimental and can be quite frustrating to figure out. I’ve watched a lot of videos trying to teach you the stuff and to be honest I’m happy it was included and I didn’t have to worry about it. The best part is it comes pre setup with detailed instructions for Sim tools and plug-ins for virtually every game I can think of except wreckfest. The thing is super easy to assemble, and even came with all of the tools including real wrenches. It arrives within two weeks of ordering it, which is pretty much across the world. I knew I would be adding extra weight to it so I decided on the upgraded Motors. With the great support (Igor to name him),įor those of you interested in purchasing the dof reality rig let me just tell you it is definitely worth every penny I spent. Most interesting thing after all, when I have DOF turned off,Įven with the FFB wheel, it feels like dead -) ![]() The software setup with the provided presets is just easy. I think, it is more like in real car, where you are forced to/from the wheel, too. The wheel is an OSW with small Mige, which is installed on a seperate frame. One week for the delivery itself, pretty fast. The whole process took only four weeks from building to the delivery to me in Germany. It is affordable and after reading further, it sounded good to me and I contacted DOF Reality. I have been interested for a long time in such a system, butĪ DIY build was due to lack of time, tools and knowledge not an option for me.Īfter some days of intensive researches, I came across this product and got interested.
